My colleagues and I in the field of trauma spend a lot of time working with veterans. Today, I would like to recognize ALL veterans.

Oftentimes, I treat veterans not suffering from PTSD but needing help transitioning and/or suffering from other mental health issues. What I hear a lot is minimizing of their own service time if they did not serve in combat zones or do not have PTSD.  I often say regardless of your issue you deserve recognition just like the next veteran.

You deserve a thank you for your time, energy, and service.  You gave what you had to give and, for that, I am grateful today and everyday.
